How We Work

We like saying that we are not "table-top therapists." We understand that kids need to move around and can learn and be motivated through that movement. We have a large sensory area with swings and therapy balls.  This equipment is used by both therapists to motivate and engage the kids, no matter what their goals are.

Many families choose to receive both speech and occupational therapy with Stefanie and Brenda.  We can easily share goals with each other and collaborate on treatment ideas seamlessly. This translates into faster generalization for your child.

For example, if Stefanie is working with a child to use the sign for “more,” Brenda will incorporate that into her occupational therapy session, by having the child request more swinging. This provides more structured opportunities for the child to practice and be reinforced.

Likewise, if Brenda's client is working on holding his pencil with the correct grasp, Stefanie will make sure that the grasp is correct when the child is coloring a picture during a language or articulation activity.
